Get to know Reiss’ latest brand ambassador Alex Scott MBE, through an exclusive interview providing a personal insight into how fashion makes her feel and gives her confidence during her current busy schedule.
The former England and Arsenal player is recognisable as an unapologetically strong female with a notable public profile that began with her successful football career. She has since thrived as a broadcaster, charity advocate and most recently, a best-selling author – all whilst still leading the way for Women’s football.
You’ve had to work incredibly hard in your career and personal life, to get to where you are today. Do you also work hard with your wardrobe; would you say your style comes naturally to you, or is it a challenge to choose what you wear?
I would say that my style is constantly evolving as I like to experiment. Sometimes it is a challenge as I’m across a lot of different shows that have very different feelings. Some are more glam, some are more laid back, some I want to add my own style to the show, even though it might have had a certain feel for years and years - I want to bring my own personality. So, I will say it’s a challenge. My style is a challenge in my working life sometimes, but a challenge that I choose to accept and enjoy.
What inspires your outfit choices?
To be brutally honest, sometimes it’s my mood. Sometimes I just want an easier option. Sometimes I’m feeling happy and confident in myself, so I would choose more colours. So yeah, it all depends.
